Bromley Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Bromley Man and Van takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to conduct business ethically, transparently, and with respect for the human rights of everyone affected by our services.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Bromley Man and Van operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, child labour, and any exploitation of vulnerable individuals. We are committed to acting professionally and with integrity in all relationships, ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our business or among those who provide goods and services to us.
All employees, workers, and contractors engaged by Bromley Man and Van are expected to uphold this policy and to report any concerns without delay. We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery practices, and any confirmed breach of this policy may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Bromley Man and Van provides transport, removals, and related services. Our supply chains primarily include vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and occasional subcontracted transport partners. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist in logistics, transport, and ancillary services, particularly where subcontracting and temporary labour are used.
We aim to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers that share our values and commit to the same high standards of ethical conduct.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners to adhere to our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. As part of our approach to due diligence, we may request information about their employment practices, recruitment processes, and health and safety arrangements.
Where considered appropriate, Bromley Man and Van may undertake supplier audits or assessments. These may include reviewing documentation, conducting site visits where feasible, and requesting evidence of policies that address modern slavery, fair wages, working hours, and freedom of movement. Suppliers that are unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards may be removed from our approved supplier list.
Employee Awareness, Training, and Responsibilities
All staff are made aware of our zero-tolerance position and their responsibilities in identifying and escalating concerns about modern slavery. Relevant employees, such as those involved in procurement or managing subcontractors, may receive additional guidance on recognising warning signs of exploitation and applying due diligence in supplier selection.
Managers are responsible for promoting a culture of openness and ensuring that individuals feel safe to raise concerns in line with this statement.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Bromley Man and Van encourages anyone who encounters or suspects modern slavery connected to our business to report their concerns at the earliest opportunity. Concerns may relate to our own operations, suppliers, or any third parties working on our behalf.
Reports can be made internally to a manager or a designated senior member of the business. We are committed to handling all reports sensitively and, where reasonably possible, confidentially. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We acknowledge that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires regular evaluation and improvement. Bromley Man and Van will review this Modern Slavery Statement annually to assess its effectiveness and to reflect any changes in legislation, industry practice, or our own operations.
The review will consider feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders, as well as any incidents, audits, or risk assessments undertaken during the year. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Bromley Man and Van and represents our current position on the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking.
